Approved for 1.5 EMDRIA Credits
The Flash technique was developed by Phil Manfield with the specific aim of helping patients who fear being overwhelmed by the trauma memory to prepare for EMDR therapy. Currently, this technique has evolved into a stand-alone intervention in which the patient is first asked to focus on a positively charged image or memory, which is then linked to the trauma memory. In this teaching session. the original version of the Flash, in which there is no positively charged image or memory, will be discussed and demonstrated.
Presenters: Suzy Matthijssen, Ph.D. & Ad De Jongh, Ph.D.
