Often, without the proper follow-up after basic training, including consultation, therapists can feel lost about where to go next in the standard protocol. When trainings focus mainly on learning up to Phase 7 and Phase 8 get a quickie explanation, therapists can make the mistake of thinking they are finished with a particular target. In actuality, there is still a lot of work to do before moving on to the next. This course aims review and discuss the basics of trauma-informed care/treatment, review the phases of the EMDR Standard Protocol. However, the main focus of this course will be to spend most of the time diving into Phase 8, desensitizing current day triggers, and completing future template or as Francine Shapiro called it: The Three-Pronged Approach to trauma resolution.
