EMDR therapy is an evidenced based treatment protocol as listed by SAMSHA. EMDR treatment is specific to trauma-related events and is a clinical intervention for trauma resolution. IFS (Internal Family Systems) is an evidenced based treatment modality involving understanding and working within a person’s internal system of protective parts, parts usually responding to traumatic or stressful life events. IFS Informed EMDR is the integration of both modalities to capitalize the benefits seen in both modalities. IFS concepts, framework, and parts exploration can be used in EMDR Phases. This course which spans multiple days (July 11, 18 & 25, 2026) will review both treatment’s core frameworks, identify strategies for integration within the 2 models, and more specifically where IFS interventions are used in EMDR Phases 1, 2, 4, and 6.
