This webinar prepares students for more advanced integration courses by introducing EMDR therapists to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. It outlines concerns about using EMDR with complex clients, reviews the historic need to supplement EMDR with an Ego State model, lists the unique advantages of IFS as an Ego State model, and describes the essential concepts of the IFS model. Through supervised practice exercises, participants will become familiar with the process in the roles of therapist & client. Integration of IFS with EMDR is not taught in this course, although overlapping concepts and processes will be noted.
