EMDR Therapy has been validated by research as a solid treatment for PTSD, trauma-related disorders. As well, research supports its applications for clinical presentations where past unresolved memories or experiential contributors play an important role in the person’s current issue or problems. Newly trained EMDR clinicians discover that working with PTSD requires a good window of affect tolerance on the part of the clinician (not just the client!). As well, integrating the AIP Model and applying it into Phase One History and Treatment Planning can be challenging when there are more than one presenting issues. This workshop will raise those various concerns: Therapist’s Fears, Readiness of their work environments, confusions and unease in implementing Phase One History and Phase Three Assessment. Interweaving 1) what has been presented in literature on these topics, 2) reminders from the Basic Training and tips from the presenter, 3) participants’ own troubleshooting ideas.
