Approved for 3 EMDRIA Credits
This course assists EMDR therapists in incorporating somatic and breathwork practices into phases 1, 2, 4, and 6 of therapy, addressing the common challenge of new clients experiencing discomfort early in treatment. By integrating these practices, therapists facilitate the establishment of a felt sense of safety, the development of self-regulation skills, and empower clients to perceive early progress through tailored home practice prescriptions. Additionally, these techniques foster a strong therapeutic relationship, particularly beneficial when discussing trauma is challenging. Through a blend of Polyvagal and Koshic theory, experiential learning, and practical application, participants will learn how to effectively integrate somatic and breathwork techniques into their EMDR practice, ultimately enhancing clinical outcomes for clients navigating trauma.
Presenters: Christine Saari MA, C-IAYT & Rachel Dash-Dougherty, LCSW
