Approved for 7.5 EMDRIA Credits
This program (which spans multiple dates May 28 – June 5, 2024) will include remote and live learning on psychedelic medicines, with an emphasis on the preparation and integration as key components to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Prescription ketamine, a dissociative anesthetic with psychedelic properties, has the potential to treat depression, PTSD and more. Through lecture and practicum, participants will learn how to integrate EMDR Therapy with patients who are prescribed ketamine. Emphasis will be placed on mechanisms of change in psychedelic medicines, the centrality of intention setting, the importance of ‘set and setting’ to potentiate maximal results; and the capacity to use EMDR Therapy both in preparation work and in follow up integration sessions.
Presenters: Kate Becker, LCSW & Karen Alter-Reid, Ph.D.
