The integration of a client’s belief system into therapy is one of the most healing experiences for a client. Often it is difficult for clinicians to utilize a client’s belief system in therapy; however, in the realm of EMDR, that integration is very possible and can be a natural part of the EMDR process. This training takes the focus of Biblically-based Christian counseling and integrates it with EMDR. Through this training the attendee will: Identify how trauma impacts a client’s connection with God, Explore trauma within ones faith practice and it’s impact on psyche, Identify specific Christian based resources that can be useful in phase 2, Identify myths the Christian community has about EMDR, and finally, Understand the role of the clinician in the process of integrating EMDR and Christianity.
