NEST integrates EMDR with Neuroaffective developments, Somatic therapy and Ego State Therapy to Treat Complex Trauma, including in the Attachment Period in Implicit Memory. The work begins with a structured clinical interview that leads to case formulation and treatment planning. Those findings point to neuroaffective strategies that work directly on the brain, somatic therapy in the case of somatic dissociation, ego state therapy for structural dissociation and loyalty to the aggressor, early trauma EMDR for trauma and neglect in implicit memory in the first years of life, or standard EMDR for trauma held in explicit memory from later in life.
