Discover how to strengthen your delivery of EMDR Therapy through practical applications of the Polyvagal Theory. Since safety and connection are at the heart of the Polyvagal Theory, it is an ideal focus within the framework of EMDR for helping our traumatized clients with complex trauma histories process through material otherwise inaccessible for support. In this workshop, we explore how to integrate tenets of the Polyvagal theory into each of the 8 phases of EMDR Therapy, to help us strengthen case conceptualization, help clients with affect management, support activation of the neural networks necessary for reprocessing targets, enhance installation of the positive cognitions, deepen somatic awareness for identification of residual material in the body, close out sessions in a stable, natural way to support emotional equilibrium, and re-evaluate targets in a manner that thoroughly explores residual disturbance and realization of emergent new targets.
