This presentation will synthesize the existing neurobiological research on information processing. Specific attention will be given to empirical findings involving the hippocampus and thalamus in cognitive, perceptual, somatosensory, emotional, and memorial functioning. Additionally, this presentation will explore the neurobiological research regarding the Default Mode Network, self-referential processing, and the Mirror Neuron System. Specifically, the implication of these data on EMDR therapeutic technique will be highlighted.
