Approved for 20 EMDRIA Credits
The death of a loved one typically confronts human beings with particularly difficult challenges at a time of often unparalleled distress. Even when uncomplicated, bereavement can precipitate significant psychological, behavioral, social, and physical difficulties. EMDR therapy can be helpful in treating the trauma of the loss, help mourners cope with the separation distress, and transform the relationship from loving in presence (when the loved one was alive) to loving in absence (now that the loved one is deceased). This live webinar (January 23-27, 2023) will teach the AIP model as it relates to the treatment of grief and loss. It will teach the relational aspects of EMDR therapy through the use of the dual attention stimuli and how to fine-tune it to enhance healing. It will also teach how to treat grief and loss within a complex trauma presentation. Individualized learning will take place through lecture, live demonstrations and advanced facilitated practica. This event is limited to 18 clinicians who have completed an EMDRIA approved EMDR therapy basic training who specifically want to work their own issues of grief and mourning in supervised practica.
Presenters: Roger Solomon, Ph.D. & Kathleen Martin, LCSW
