Working with complex trauma inevitably involves working with dissociation. In this interactive workshop, participants will gain an understanding of the importance of pacing in moving into trauma work with complex trauma survivors and the known saying, “fast is slow”. Utilizing EMDR in complex trauma work requires patience and meeting clients where they are. Participants will gain an understanding of the theoretical frameworks of both Structural Dissociation Theory and Polyvagal Theory that will build on these necessary skills for working with this population.
