Consultation: Ten hours of consultation are required in order to complete the training. With this curriculum, the consultation hours are built into the training scheduled and provided during the dates listed above.

TRAINING OVERVIEW

This EMDR Training is designed for licensed mental health professionals who work in a clinical setting. The training meets EMDRIA requirements and includes lecture, demonstrations and supervised practice.

The EMDR Center of Canada Inc. four part comprehensive basic training in EMDR begins with understanding the effects of trauma; an in-depth discussion on Case Conceptualization and Case Formulation; understanding and screening for dissociation; learning specific ways of assessing readiness for EMDR memory reprocessing; and a focus on the use of methods of stabilization. The training will cover basic and advanced EMDR concepts and procedures. There are four training sessions over twelve weeks with four additional 1-hour training sessions focusing on delivering Virtual EMDR Therapy.  Zoom, Canvas and Box.com will be the online platforms utilized to facilitate this training. The training curriculum provides paced development of procedural skills, review of essential concepts, and detailed consultation regarding initial practice experiences.
