The live webinar will provide an overview of how to work with recent traumatic events, including common reactions people have following recent traumatic events, an overview of Acute Stress Disorder, and suggestions for client self care. We will provide information about why it is helpful to provide EMDR soon after traumatic events, when possible, and how treatment differs from EMDR with longstanding trauma. We will also share information about some of the EMDR recent events protocols that are commonly used, and will provide a more detailed overview of the EMDR Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP), which was developed by Elan Shapiro and Brurit Laub.
