Neurotransmitters will be defined, named, and their actions listed. General functions of each neurotransmitter will be listed. In addition, the symptoms and disorders will be listed for each neurotransmitter deficit and excess. Significant pharmacological principles affecting medications in the body will be named and described. Anti-cholinergic side effects and the most significant reasons for choice of medications also will be listed and described. The various types of medications will be named with examples and regulation of each explained. Classification of psychotropics used in stabilization: 1) anti-depressants, 2) anti-anxiety, 3) mood stabilizers, 4) antisychotics, & 5) hypnotic & other meds for tx of insomnia will be provided, including side effects and FDA approved uses. Lastly, the function, cost, and protocol for collection of genome testing will be described.
