This community will focus on applying EMDR therapy interventions within less than 3 months of a disturbing experience. It is open to all EMDR Early Intervention (EEI) protocols. There is a wide application of early interventions to explore and expand. In this group, EMDR therapists can discuss cases (following appropriate confidentiality guidelines) highlighting types of settings, events, populations, EEI protocols used as well as difficulties and successes. Goals of this group are to learn from one another how to improve EEI efficacy, to increase readiness of response to community disasters, and to encourage early interventions in hopes of reducing suffering due to delayed treatment. Resources in the community library include the EMDR Research Foundation Early Intervention Toolkit, which can be used as a tool to improve fidelity to the EEI protocols within and help encourage research in this area.
