Online Course
This online course focuses on the dynamics, experiences and needs of a range of intersecting cultural identities primarily focused on race, ethnicity, and nationality. It is designed to inform and guide EMDR therapists interested in deepening their clinically relevant awareness, skills, and knowledge. The course will focus on dynamics within the US and Canada (with implications for global cultural dynamics). Attention will be paid to the experience and needs of both clients and EMDR practitioners. Presenters are EMDR practitioners with expertise in their topic areas and they will draw from their professional and other lived experience.
This online course features an array of presentations designed to inform and guide EMDR practitioners with increased awareness of cultural considerations and specific EMDR methods and strategies. Presentations will address topic specific considerations within the 8-Phase EMDR model. Presentations will be coordinated to reduce duplication of foundational concepts and to build a sense of a collaborative community of EMDR practitioners advancing the culturally attuned use of EMDR therapy.
