In recent years, a number of procedures have been developed to treat complications during therapy. These include breaking through avoidance, preventing dissociation, or helping the patient overcome his or her fear. An example is the EMD bomb, the showpiece of EMDR 2.0. This technique is intended for clients who have difficulty allowing a memory in its entirety due to a lot of cognitive control, those with emotion regulation problems, those who are easily overwhelmed by flashbacks (hyperarousal), or clients who tend to dissociate (hypo-arousal). In this online course, therapists learn how to use the EMD bomb effectively.
