Discover how the principles of Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) can enrich the practice of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This course offers an overview of the history of both TIC and EMDR while remaining faithful to Dr. Francine Shapiro’s groundbreaking eight-phase model. Participants will learn the foundational principles of TIC and how they dovetail with Dr. Shapiro’s vision of EMDR. The training will also detail how to apply TIC strategies within each phase to create a safer, more collaborative, and empowering therapeutic process for clients. In addition, the course highlights how trauma-informed principles can strengthen organizational and individual safety, prevent burnout, and foster resilience — equipping clinicians to support healing while also sustaining themself as a practitioner.
