Anger is a powerful and misunderstood emotion. Due to trauma, neglect or abuse, an individual may never have learned how to deal with pain, suffering, trauma or frustration other than through anger. The result can be an extremely angry person. In some cases, that anger can turn from being disrespectful to harmful to self or to others. In some therapy modalities, including EMDR therapy, practitioners struggle with addressing and treating anger-related issues in individual and group settings. This online course seeks to address the misconceptions about anger management as well as the various aspects of a person’s life that impacts their ability to deal with anger in a healthy and productive manner. Participants are encouraged to expand their own knowledge of conceptualizing and working with anger within a trauma-focused lens for clinical practice. This course also aims to help decrease overall fear/anxiety and increase personal confidence in working with EMDR and perinatal trauma related anger issues.
