This 60 minute on line video presentation is a detailed review of Resource Development and Installation (RDI), with both a theory and practice focus. Donald F. deGraffenried, LCSW is a Senior Trauma Recovery EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Trainer, and presents the lecture in the first half of the video. In the second half of the video TR/EMDR HAP Senior Trainer Cheryl Kenn, LCSW joins him and they do a live demonstration of Resource Development and Installation. The live demonstration is done using two screens; to show that the RDI can be done using a tele-health on line platform. The trainer presents the purpose of RDI, with an emphasis on developing and strengthening qualities that the client needs to address a specific challenge. In addition, he shares the types of resources including:
- Mastery resources
- Relational Resources
- Symbolic Resources
The lecture presents in detail the use of the RDI Script from the Part II Manual and deGraffenried presents a specific case example from his practice. The second part of the video features deGraffenried and Kenn, in a split screen, demonstrating how to develop the RDI. Ms. Kenn elects to develop an RDI that will help her to cope with the stress and uncertainty of the coronavirus. In the split screen video, deGraffenried introduces the concept of the RDI, does an online demonstration of the mechanics and develops the RDI with Ms. Kenn. He is attentive to the script, uses slow bi-lateral stimulation to enhance the RDI and links the developed RDI to a cue word that is chosen by Ms. Kenn. He “runs the movie” to enhance her responsiveness to the corona challenge and provides a summary at the end.
