Equines for Freedom is a non-profit based in the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania area that provides free EMDR and equine-assisted therapy to veterans and first responders in need. This Yahoo! News article shares they are seeking volunteers and more about the program helping people heal from PTSD.
EMDR therapy is recommended “for the long-term maintenance of mental health in students, as it has shown verified success in younger populations,” as reported in RTT HealthNews article “PTSD and Anxiety Increases Among Children In A Post-War Environment.” The article discusses research studies conducted in Ethiopia with children living in conflict zones.
