Education & Experience

I have spent my entire career in our public schools serving students in one capacity or another. I have been facilitating school-based mental health (SBMH) services since 2009 and got licensed in 2014. My programs have always been different than traditional SBMH because I would focus on clinical diagnosis and not academics or special education. I love working with adolescents using mindfulness, ACT some CBT, focusing on developing a therapeutic alliance that supports the adolescent and the parent. I have been in private practice for several years and have loved working with my adult clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety and struggling with weight loss. Last year I started Calm Mind Therapy, Inc to bring on associates that I had developed as MFT Trainees in my school program. My practice therapists have different specialties that are a unique match for some clients. My specialties have been working with clients with ADHD, anxiety, depression that gets in the way of joy (which can take on several forms) and the parenting relationship.
I am excited to continue to build my therapeutic skills adding the amazing tool of EMDR to address blocks that get in the way of our relationships, cause anxiety, lead to stagnation and in particular I have a passion working with clients that struggle to lose weight.
