About Me
I believe healing can be both deeply meaningful and profoundly human — which means therapy doesn’t have to feel cold, clinical, or like you’re being analyzed under a microscope.
My work centers trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and helping clients reconnect with themselves in ways that feel empowering, sustainable, and real. I specialize in supporting individuals navigating trauma, chronic stress, identity-related experiences, and the complicated ways life can shape the nervous system.
As an EMDR therapist, I value authenticity, collaboration, and creating a space where clients can feel safe enough to do difficult work — while still leaving room for humor, humanity, and the occasional well-timed metaphor.
Healing is serious work. But you don’t have to lose yourself in the process.
Education & Experience
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the APA-accredited California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, where I also earned my M.A. in Clinical Psychology. My clinical work has centered on trauma, PTSD, identity, and culturally responsive care across diverse community and Veteran populations.
Currently, I serve as a Trauma Clinical Psychologist on the PTSD Clinical Team at the VA Northern California Health Care System, where I provide evidence-based trauma treatment for Veterans navigating complex trauma, depression, substance use, TBI, and chronic health concerns. My work includes therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), STAIR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT). I also collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and facilitate consultation and DEI-focused support spaces for trainees and providers.
My training includes specialized experience in PTSD treatment, substance use, couples therapy, neuropsychological assessment, forensic and re-entry populations, and community mental health. I completed advanced training within multiple VA systems and have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and sexual identity backgrounds.
Beyond clinical work, I’m passionate about mentorship, advocacy, and education. I’ve served as a clinical supervisor and guest lecturer on topics including PTSD assessment, substance use, sexuality, communication, and trauma-informed care. My research and presentations have explored police encounters, minority stress, LGBTQ+ experiences, sexual health disparities, and intersectionality within marginalized communities.
