About Me
Years ago, I visited Ghana where I was introduced to a symbol called the “Sankofa.” The Sankofa translates to “go back and fetch” and symbolizes the importance of looking to the past in order to reclaim lost strength and wisdom. As a therapist, this deeply resonates with me. Often, parts of our past can feel too painful or overwhelming to revisit. However, I’ve seen firsthand that even some of life’s most difficult experiences can become sources of strength, growth, and a deeper understanding of ourselves.
I believe therapy should be flexible, collaborative, and responsive to each person’s unique experiences and needs. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I integrate evidence-based modalities in ways that feel thoughtful, grounded, and tailored to the work we’re doing together.
Education & Experience
I specialize in working with individuals navigating complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity exploration. For my black and brown brothers and sisters, LGBTQ+ community, and other minoritized folks; You are welcomed here. I approach therapy through a multicultural lens that honors the complexity of our identities, relationships, and lived experiences.
With over 13 years of counseling experience, my work is grounded in evidence-based approaches that are tailored to each individual’s unique experiences and needs. I believe therapy should not only provide insight and support, but also practical tools that help create meaningful and lasting change.
