About Me
My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and individualized. I believe healing involves the whole person—mind, body, emotions, relationships, culture, and, when desired, faith. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and use it to help clients process painful or distressing experiences, reduce emotional intensity, and strengthen more adaptive beliefs about themselves. I also offer EMDR intensives for clients who prefer longer, focused sessions in addition to traditional 60-minute sessions.
In addition to EMDR, I draw from Somatic Experiencing® as I work toward certification, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and attachment informed care. I tailor treatment to each client’s goals, needs, and readiness rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
I provide therapy in both English and Spanish. With immersion education and more than seven years of experience providing care primarily in Spanish-speaking settings, I am attentive not only to language but also to the cultural nuances within the diverse Hispanic community.
For clients who are interested, I also incorporate Christian counseling to explore emotional, relational, and spiritual concerns within the context of faith. This is always client-led and integrated only when it feels meaningful and supportive to the person seeking care.
Outside of my work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, skiing, spending time with family and friends, and paper scrapbooking. I’m always drawn to adventure and hope to hike in every U.S. National Park someday.
Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. My clinical background includes work in substance use treatment, community-based care, specialized treatment programs, and private practice. I have experience supporting teens, adults, couples, military-connected individuals, Spanish-speaking clients, and individuals navigating complex trauma, relational wounds, anxiety, life transitions, and identity or faith-related concerns.
