About Me

Healing doesn't have to happen alone. So much of what we carry was shaped in moments of feeling unseen, misunderstood, or left to manage something overwhelming by ourselves. When we feel genuinely connected to another person, and free to bring forward vulnerability and old pain, healing becomes possible.

From there, we can change how we think, feel, relate, and respond in ways that weren't available to us back then. For that reason, I place significant emphasis on the therapeutic relationship itself: one grounded in trust, attunement, authenticity, and respect.

I work with adults, young adults, and teens ages 12 and up navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, grief, strong or difficult emotions, and significant life transitions.

EMDR can reach the places where we understand our patterns clearly, yet our feelings haven't shifted despite our best efforts. My goal is to provide a thoughtful, intentional space to step out of what feels overwhelming or quietly unsustainable, and into greater clarity, stability, and self-trust.

I offer in-person sessions in Ashburn, Virginia, and telehealth to clients located in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Delaware, Florida, and Illinois.

Education & Experience

I am a licensed clinical social worker and EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ with nearly a decade of clinical experience, and I own a private practice, Trellis Therapy of Loudoun, in Ashburn, Virginia. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia, where I graduated with Distinction.

I completed my EMDRIA-approved basic training through the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy with Deany Laliotis in 2025 and have used EMDR in my practice ever since. Her approach holds that the relationship between therapist and client is what makes the real work possible, and it shapes every part of how I practice EMDR. I earned EMDRIA certification in September 2026. Certification requires at least 20 hours of consultation with an EMDRIA Approved Consultant™ and EMDR practice with at least 25 clients across at least 50 sessions.

Earlier in my career, I trained in comprehensive DBT at a community mental health clinic in North Carolina, serving clients who otherwise had little access to specialized care. Before opening my own practice, I spent five years in a comprehensive DBT program in Bethesda, Maryland, working with adults facing complex trauma, emotions that felt impossible to manage, and crisis-level distress.

Alongside EMDR and DBT, I hold advanced training in Contextually Focused DBT through a fellowship at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice at the University of Chicago (2022–2023), as well as training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
