About Me

As a Queer, Ghanaian American psychologist, I understand how scary it can be for those of us with marginalized identities and past trauma to take the first step in finding a therapist. It is hard to feel safe anywhere when you are facing constant discrimination. Each day feels like you are reliving past traumatic experiences and your body and nervous system never feel settled. You worry if a therapist will be able to understand you and speak to the daily challenges of navigating trauma and multiple systems of oppression, such as racial microaggressions and homophobia.

In my practice, I remind you that healing is possible and that you deserve to live a freer life that is not controlled by the past. I create a nonjudgmental space in which you can feel seen and understood and finally focus on your healing without guilt. With trauma-informed EMDR and yoga-based mindfulness, I help you learn coping skills to manage trauma triggers, work toward comfortably talking about trauma and its impact on your life, and develop healthier beliefs about yourself.

I specialize in healing and processing complex trauma, culturally responsive therapy for first- and second-generation immigrants, and affirming therapy for LGBTQI+, people of color.
