Kelly A. Riley, LMSW, CCS

About Me

I have been a group practice owner and Certified Clinical Supervisor for more than 15 years and have been practicing EMDR since 2005. I am passionate about the potential of EMDR to facilitate meaningful healing and lasting change, particularly for individuals experiencing trauma, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, and other mood-related concerns.

In addition to trauma-focused work, I support clients navigating relationship and family challenges, life transitions, and women’s emotional health, including the unique changes that can accompany perimenopause and menopause.

I also have specialized experience working with therapists, mental health professionals, and other helping professionals. I understand the unique demands of caring for others and provide a supportive, insightful space to address burnout, compassion fatigue, professional stress, boundary challenges, and personal growth.

My clinical approach integrates EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based techniques. Above all, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that is warm, collaborative, and client-centered, with an emphasis on building resilience, deepening self-awareness, and creating meaningful, sustainable change.

Education & Experience

I earned my B.A. in Psychology with Honors and my Master of Social Work with High Honor from Michigan State University, completing a specialization in Clinical Social Work and a certificate in Clinical Social Work with Families in 2005.

My postgraduate education has focused extensively on trauma and trauma-informed treatment, including Level I and II EMDR training and certification as a Trauma Specialist through the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC). Additional areas of advanced training include grief counseling and treatment, with an emphasis on assessment and interventions that support healthy grieving and adaptation to death and loss, as well as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and geriatric mental health conditions.

I am also a Certified Clinical Supervisor and have provided clinical supervision to mental health professionals since 2008.
