About Me
Life is challenging, messy, and painful. Life is also exciting, joyful, and healing. Life is life.
No matter where you are in life’s journey, that journey is ever-changing. Whatever type of change you believe is best for you, I believe change is best accomplished with others—in collaboration, not in isolation.
Regardless of what a client brings into the room, my role remains the same: to serve as a guide toward healing and growth using methods best suited to each person’s unique needs. I strive to be an advocate who affirms clients and their experiences while also providing honest feedback and, at times, a little tough love—all from a place of unconditional acceptance.
I feel privileged every time I sit with a client and meet them right where they are. No matter where that place is, I want them to know they are not alone.
I am an Atlanta native and am married with three children, a bearded dragon, and a therapy dog in training. Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy baking (and eating), listening to podcasts, riding my Peloton, dancing, vegging on the couch watching TV, and spending time with my family.
Education & Experience
I earned my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University in 2015 and my B.S. in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2012. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) in Georgia.
The first eight years of my career were spent working in a Marriage and Family Therapy practice. The training and experience I gained during those years continue to inform my work with individuals today. I aim to equip clients with tools not only to navigate life for themselves, but also to navigate life in relationship with others, recognizing that pain experienced in relationships can also be healed through relationships.
My areas of specialty include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, self-worth, relationship concerns, feeling stuck, and spirituality. I utilize EMDR therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Person-Centered approaches, tailoring treatment to the individual needs of each client.
I am extensively trained in the integration of psychology and Christianity and offer the integration of Christian counseling approaches when requested by the client.
