About Me
I am an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and Certified EMDR Therapist, an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and the Founder and Executive Director of Ally Counseling and Therapy. My clinical work focuses on complex and attachment trauma, sexuality and intimacy, relationships, identity, and cross-cultural experiences.
My approach to EMDR is relational, flexible, creative, and integrative. I am particularly interested in working with complex trauma and presentations in which attachment, parts, sexuality, shame, identity, and cultural experiences intersect. My work is informed by parts-oriented approaches, Ego State Therapy, AEDP, Ericksonian Hypnosis, IFS-informed work, and other experiential approaches.
A particular area of my practice is integrating EMDR and trauma work into sex therapy. I am interested in trauma-focused sex therapy that recognizes how attachment experiences, shame, relational injuries, cultural messages, and difficult or traumatic experiences can become intertwined with sexuality, desire, intimacy, and the body. Rather than treating trauma and sexuality as separate clinical issues, I help clients explore and work with the ways they may interact.
I am especially interested in how EMDR can remain grounded in its underlying principles without becoming rigid or overly protocol-driven. Depending on the person and their needs, the work may involve careful pacing and titration, creative resourcing, parts work, somatic awareness, playfulness, and other experiential interventions. I value helping clients move beyond intellectual insight toward experiences of change that can actually be felt and integrated.
As a first-generation immigrant and former international student, I also bring a multicultural and cross-cultural perspective to trauma treatment. I work with people across diverse cultural backgrounds, gender and sexual identities, and relationship structures, with particular sensitivity to the ways culture, attachment, sexuality, identity, and trauma can shape one another.
Alongside my clinical practice, I am passionate about consultation, supervision, and therapist development. As the founder of Ally Counseling and Therapy, I have supervised and mentored clinicians from early career through advanced trauma specialization. In EMDR consultation, my goal is not simply to help clinicians decide “what protocol to use next,” but to help them develop stronger case conceptualization, clinical flexibility, creativity, and confidence in finding their own authentic way of practicing EMDR.
I especially enjoy consulting on complex and attachment trauma, parts work, integrating EMDR with sex therapy, cross-cultural cases, and creative or integrative applications of EMDR.
