About Me

I am an outpatient therapist in a mental health clinic setting, and I enjoy working with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties and life challenges.

In my free time I enjoy walking, reading, travelling, playing games, music, trying new things, serving at church, and hanging out with friends/family.

Education & Experience

Master of Social Work- Multicultural Clinical Practice- completed June 2018 at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, MN

Bachelor of Social Work; Sociology- completed May 2012 at Dordt College in Sioux Center, IA

I have been a social worker since 2013. My non-clinical experience includes working in the school and community in non-profit settings. I have about 8-9 years of clinical social work experience and have worked as a therapist with children in the home and adolescents/adults in an outpatient mental health clinic setting. I use an integrated therapeutic approach that is client-centered and strengths-based and incorporates methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills.
