Georgia Harrison, DSW, LCSW, BCD
About Me
As an EMDR Certified therapist, I specialize in helping adults and couples heal from trauma, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I work primarily with high-performing professionals, executives, military members, veterans, and couples who may appear successful on the outside yet find themselves struggling with unresolved trauma, chronic stress, relationship distress, betrayal, or emotional disconnection.
Many of my clients are accustomed to being the strong, capable, and responsible one for others. While these qualities often contribute to professional success, they can also make it difficult to slow down, ask for support, or address the deeper wounds that continue to impact emotional well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life.
My approach integrates EMDR therapy with attachment-focused, somatic, and nervous system-informed interventions to address both the root causes of distress and the patterns that keep people feeling stuck. I believe symptoms make sense within the context of a person’s experiences, relationships, and nervous system adaptations, and that healing occurs through safety, awareness, emotional processing, and corrective experiences.
In addition to individual trauma therapy, I provide couples therapy and intensive therapy services for couples experiencing betrayal, high-conflict patterns, emotional disconnection, or the impact of unresolved trauma on their relationship. I also offer extended sessions and intensive therapy formats for individuals and couples seeking deeper, more focused work.
My areas of specialization include:
• Complex trauma and PTSD
• Childhood and attachment trauma
• EMDR therapy and trauma intensives
• Relationship trauma and betrayal trauma
• Couples therapy and couples intensives
• Anxiety, stress, and burnout
• High-performing professionals and executives
• Military members and veterans
• Nervous system regulation and emotional resilience
I provide virtual therapy to clients located in Tennessee, Florida, Washington DC, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Illinois. Limited in-person intensive sessions are available in Chattanooga, Tennessee on a case-by-case basis.
