About Me
Hello! I’m Dr. Raychelle Cassada Lohmann. I earned my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from North Carolina State University, where I also completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Science in Counselor Education. With more than 27 years of experience in school and clinical mental health counseling, I have dedicated my career to supporting children, adolescents, adults, parents, and educators. My passion for counseling is grounded in a simple mission: helping others transform their lives from the inside out.
As an EMDR-certified therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I specialize in trauma-informed care and support clients as they work toward healing, growth, and meaningful change. In addition to my clinical practice, I am an associate professor at Elon University, where I teach and mentor graduate students preparing to become clinical mental health counselors.
I am a board-certified Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina (#S3954) and a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina (#4802). I have authored numerous books and workbooks, presented at national and international conferences, and contributed my expertise to media outlets including the Associated Press, Chicago Tribune, Seventeen, Scholastic, and U.S. News & World Report.
Across my clinical work, teaching, consultation, and writing, I am committed to making evidence-based practices practical, accessible, and relevant. I also provide EMDR consultation to help clinicians strengthen their confidence, deepen their skills, and use EMDR effectively and ethically with their clients.
