About Me

I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based psychotherapy for various mental health concerns. I utilize EMDR as one of the interventions, which is highly successful and extremely effective, especially when integrated with other modalities. This powerful and efficient combination of interventions has enabled me to help clients experience relief from trauma and associated symptoms, but also to enact enduring change for personal and professional empowerment.

My orientation to counseling combines EMDR with client-centered, CBT, attachment theories, polyvagal interventions, and EFT. I regularly incorporate aspects of mindfulness as a powerful reinforcement to EMDR and CBT work. I believe counseling is a process that empowers clients to identify strengths, coping interventions, cyclical behaviors, and themes to help clients implement change in their lives to live in the here and now with relief, meaning, and purpose.

My therapeutic approach has a cognitive behavioral and family systems foundation, integrating techniques to promote whole-person wellness. It is believed that people are born with unique personalities and distinct ways of perceiving those around them. Personal growth can occur when you take the time to navigate cognitions, bring awareness to self-critical parts, and revisit your positive core values. The capacity to grow from within and the ability to make the desired change in life can be found within everyone. The therapeutic setting allows you to address desired change and focus on creating a working alliance between us with empathy and commitment to self-growth. In our counseling relationship, we will work together to establish goals that will address your concerns and allow you to benefit from your counseling experience. My counseling services address concerns or issues, including, but not limited to:

Education & Experience

I earned an MA (2017) in Professional Counseling and School Counseling from Seton Hall University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC #20857) approved by the North Carolina Board of Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC#0701011804) approved by the Virginia Board of Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC#37PC00906300) approved by the New Jersey State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy Examiners, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #PRC200001626) approved by DC Health Board of Marriage and Family Therapy, and National Certified Counselor (NCC) (#1723260) approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I hold a certification of completion for the Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2 (CCTP-II) certification (Group # 273151). I am an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist (#100283940).

My experience consists of 10 years of psychology-based services while serving in the Army Reserve as a leader/ instructor for mental health purposes (providing domestic violence awareness training, implementing the annual sexual assault workshops, and providing groups for returning veterans) within the 439th Medical Detachment. I went on to expand my mental health training and experience as an in-home therapist for children within the Sussex County area of New Jersey to help families within their immediate environment address behavior-based needs from 2017- 2019. During 2019- 2021, I transitioned to Virginia as a Resident in Counseling to explore crisis management work throughout Northern Virginia to address significant mental health needs for children and adolescents while providing trauma-focused services to adult clients within a private practice in Dumfries, Virginia. I dedicated my focus to my licensure in VA fully within the private practice realm; I was able to obtain my full licensure in Virginia, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia in 2022. I have worked in private practice and as an EAP clinician to serve individuals struggling with relational stressors, trauma concerns, and anxiety-driven situations since obtaining my full license.
