About Me
I work with well-established professionals — both men and women — whose partners have told them the relationship is over unless something changes around their anger. Maybe it's not constant, but when it surfaces, it's intense enough that your partner is done absorbing it. You've likely heard things like "I can't keep walking on eggshells" or "I'm not doing this anymore." And underneath your own frustration is something harder to admit — you don't always recognize yourself in those moments either.
This is the kind of moment that brings many of my clients to therapy. You are accomplished and capable in your career, and you have spent years being the one who holds things together. But at home, something else takes over — a reaction that feels bigger than the moment calls for, one that's now putting the relationship you care about at risk. What's surfacing now isn't just the current conflict — it's everything earlier that never fully resolved.
I understand this not just as a clinician, but as someone who has lived it. My path to becoming a therapist grew from watching how early family experiences and intergenerational patterns shaped the way I moved through the world — how I approached money, how I struggled to set limits, how I expressed anger and love. I was navigating life through a lens formed long before I was born, carrying my family's history as if it were my own, until I began my own healing. That experience is what makes me not just a therapist, but a witness — someone who will not flinch at the complexity of your story, because I have lived in that complexity too.
EMDR is at the core of how I work. It helps your nervous system fully reprocess the earlier experiences still driving current patterns, so the past loses its grip and you can respond from who you are now — not from what you've been through. I bring additional training in IFS, Ego State work, DBT, and CBT to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, and lasting change.
I have a particular focus on high-achieving professionals, and Asian and Mandarin-speaking clients navigating the intersection of cultural expectations, family loyalty, and personal identity. Sessions are available in English and Mandarin. I practice fully online and am licensed in New York and Utah.
Education & Experience
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 16 years of clinical experience, holding licenses in both New York (License #001361-01) and Utah (License #11768707-3902). I graduated from an accredited graduate program in marriage and family therapy.
I have been EMDR Certified through EMDRIA since 2021 (Certification #161550), and have pursued extensive advanced EMDR training across a range of specialized applications, including EMDR for complex trauma, EMDR for Couples' Therapy, the Flash Technique, the Distancing Approach for OCD, and the DeTUR Protocol for desensitizing urges.
Beyond EMDR, my clinical training includes Internal Family Systems (IFS), Ego State Interventions (Robin Shapiro), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Certified Family-Centered Treatment. These modalities inform how I approach nervous system regulation, parts work, and relational healing across a diverse client population.
I am an active member of EMDRIA and maintain ongoing professional development to stay current in trauma-informed and EMDR-based care.
