Elizabeth Kenney, LCSW

(she/her)

EMDRIA Certified Therapist™

Online Therapy

About Me

Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering therapy in person in Northwest Connecticut, as well as via telehealth throughout Connecticut and New York. She believes therapy works best when it's collaborative and tailored to the person in front of her. Her clinical work centers on trauma, anxiety, depression, family and relational patterns, and substance use, and she draws on approaches including EMDR, ACT, and family systems thinking depending on what each client needs. She is passionate about helping people make meaning of their lived experience and move toward greater ease. She sees her role as a guide and facilitator of each client's process, bringing both clinical rigor and genuine warmth to that work.

Education & Experience

Elizabeth received her MSW from New York University and completed post-graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. She is EMDRIA-certified in EMDR therapy and holds an Addiction Studies Certificate. She has worked with adults and families in private practice and community-based clinic settings, and with adolescents in individual and group settings, and also has training as a mindfulness instructor. She currently provides per diem clinical care at a residential addiction treatment center, which keeps her closely connected to substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment.
