About Me
Hi, I’m Jaleesa. I work with children, teens, adults, and caregivers who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.
My style is warm, authentic, collaborative, and gently challenging. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be honest, curious, and fully yourself without feeling like you need to perform, mask, or have the perfect words.
I use EMDR to help clients work through experiences that continue to show up in their emotions, relationships, bodies, or everyday reactions. I believe this work should be thoughtful and individualized, so I take time to build trust, strengthen resources, and adapt the process to each person’s needs, pace, communication style, culture, and nervous system.
My practice is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, culturally responsive, and strengths-based. I offer in-person therapy in Brea and telehealth throughout California.
Education & Experience
I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Vanguard University of Southern California in 2019 and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Biblical Studies, from Biola University in 2013.
I have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor in California since 2022. I began training in EMDR in 2024 and continue to deepen my experience using it with clients across different ages and presenting concerns.
My clinical experience includes private practice and multidisciplinary, autism-focused settings. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, caregivers, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, perfectionism, people-pleasing, school avoidance, sports anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, caregiver stress, and experiences related to ADHD and autism.
Depending on the needs of the client, I may also incorporate DBT, CBT, ACT, mindfulness, play, art-based interventions, and parts-informed approaches.
