About Me
I am a bilingual first generation Latina of Mexican decent parents. I grew up in different towns around Los Angeles and Riverside County. The last 15 years I have lived between Del Norte and Humboldt County. During my free time I spend my time in nature with my dog and cat, participating activities through my affiliated church, or engaging in cultural ceremonies through my Moondance community.
Education & Experience
I got my bachelors in Social Work at Humboldt State University. During these early years I was active with program development, program management, and program sustainability curriculums for the local undocumented community bridging relationships off and on campus for the Latine community. I received my Masters in Social Work at Humboldt State University with a focus on rural and Indigenous populations. I completed my hours throughout Del Norte County and Humboldt County by working with at risk youth who were in the juvenile hall or were on probation, working at schools with youth who had an IEP, adults who have TBI's, families of Latine background, and women who are survivors of sexual abuse.
Professional & Volunteer Affiliations
I volunteer with a non-profit called Hermanas Unidas.
