About Me
As a therapist, it is my goal to see you become a better version of yourself. It is my belief that life's experiences teach things about the world that may no longer be the most helpful or true today; even if they were true at the time in our past. When we don't adapt and remain flexible, we find ourselves in a web of mistaken beliefs, thinking errors and unresolved life problems. As a result, it becomes too hard to find our way and manage life's challenges in the here-and-now. I love to be present when my clients find a new way and authentically experience change. I've worked with clients from many walks of life and with varied needs. My areas of expertise are in Addiction/Substance Abuse, Family of Origin issues, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, and Mood disorders. I use a Cognitive Behavioral and eclectic approach to help my clients bring out the best in themselves. I integrate evidence-based practices such as MI, CBT, DBT, EMDR and the IFS model. I like to use humor, open ended questions, and a direct approach because I think in counseling we should get to the point, and we should have fun doing it. I have a client-centered philosophy and tailor interventions to meet the specific needs and circumstances of each individual. I want clients to have a safe space where they feel comfortable sharing their experiences as we work collaboratively towards positive outcomes. I am committed to building genuine relationships because I believe the power of connection is an essential element in the therapeutic process.
