About Me

Using evidence-based practices, Katy helps individuals feel more calm, confident, and in control. She works with clients to unearth and eliminate the outdated patterns that leave them exhausted, anxious, or depressed. She helps them rewrite the scripts, identify strengths, and build skills, so they can heal and live into the person they want to be for this next chapter of their lives. Katy takes a humanistic approach to this work which recognizes the client’s innate strength and wisdom. She is an indomitable champion of individual potential and the human spirit and works with clients to create lasting change, because the world needs what each of them has to offer.
She is EMDR trained and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, mindfulness/yoga-based practices, and brain science. She has spent the last 25 years in some form of advising, mentoring, coaching, and counseling. She has a Master of Social Work in clinical psychotherapy from the University of Iowa, a BA in Philosophy and Art from Northwestern University, and an MBA/JD in strategy from the University of Iowa. She spent her early career as a wealth manager, attorney, and mediator. Above all, Katy is a seeker of how we live the good life and began counseling to help others on their journey toward a healthy, meaningful life lived from the inside out.
