An open trial of EMDR as treatment for chronic PTSD
This study follows 8 adult cases of chronic PTSD treated by EMDR therapy.
Resource Abstract
“In a prepilot study, 8 adults with chronic PTSD underwent three 90-min sessions of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) at 1-wk intervals in an open trial. None of the seven who completed treatment met criteria for current PTSD two months later. Significant decreases in measures of pathology and disturbance were recorded. ”
