About Me
Dr. Nadir gravitated toward the field of social work because there is such a need to help families grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and mentally. Dr. Nadir is challenged to assist others who may not be operating at their highest/fullest potential due to vicarious and complex trauma(s), life's nuances, and mental health challenges that hinder them through her mental health and consulting practice, RMNTherapy & Consultation Services, L.L.C. Dr. Nadir is an alumnus of Morgan State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s in Psychology and her Master of Social Work from Howard University, and proudly uplifts the tenets of these illustrious institutions. She concluded her academic career by earning her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree from the University of Southern California. Dr. Nadir has a well-rounded career, working in Pre-K through 12th-grade academic environments, child welfare, adoption, outpatient mental health facilities, and group and private practice. Dr. Nadir is a licensed clinical social worker and is also a board-certified supervisor in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. She is certified as a clinical social worker manager, a trauma-responsive specialist, is EMDR trained, certified as a motivational interviewer, certified from the University of Pennsylvania as an equitable and inclusive leader, certified as a Woman entrepreneur through E-Cornell University’s online platform, and a Culturally Responsive and Equitable Evaluator (CREE).

She gravitated towards this field because there is such a need to help families grow spiritually, emotionally, socially, and mentally. Dr. Nadir is challenged to assist others who may not be operating at their highest/fullest potential due to complex trauma and obstacles that have hindered them. Dr. Nadir is an alumnus of Morgan State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s in Psychology and her Master of Social Work from Howard University, and proudly uplifts the tenets of these illustrious institutions. She rounded off her academic career by receiving her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from the University of Southern California. Dr. Nadir worked in the public school setting for 15 years, in nonpublic schools for 5 years, and consulted with multiple nonprofit and for-profit organizations to serve the needs of youth and their families throughout her career. While working in these academic institutions, she served in numerous leadership roles as a Clinical Team Lead, Dean of Students, and Director of Strategies and Logistics. Dr. Nadir specializes in trauma-based treatment and uses evidence-based treatment modalities to address client needs. Dr. Nadir is a licensed clinical social worker in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. She is a registered clinical social work supervisor in Maryland and Virginia, a Certified Social Work Manager, a trauma specialist, certified as a motivational interviewer, EMDR informed clinician, DEI certified from the University of Pennsylvania, certified as a Woman entrepreneur through ECornell University’s online platform, and a Culturally Responsive and Equitable Evaluator (CREE). Dr. Nadir is a Go Grander award-winning clinician for her research and development of an online tool, Pieces to a Rose (P2R), which will increase positive relationships between staff and students in the academic environment. She participated in the 2024 Milestones Circles program at the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center. She was named an honored listee in Marquis Who’s Who 2024 and is one of the Black Leaders Worldwide 2024 Women to Watch honorees. Dr. Nadir is humbled to help someone grow beyond what they thought they could imagine by using clinical skills to encourage mindset shifts and recognize areas of strength despite experiences. Credentialing as a certified social work manager will allow me to engage with like-minded individuals, add to my craft, and create opportunities to support individuals and organizations in need.
