Dr. Rebeca Rocha, PhD, LCSW
(She/Her/Ella/Ela)
About Me
My name is Rebeca (she/her). I was born and raised in Brazil and bring a multiethnic, bicultural perspective to my work.
As an immigrant from Brazil myself, I have a deep, lived understanding of the complexities of migration, cultural transition, and identity development. I am especially passionate about working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and primarily serve clients from historically marginalized communities. My work is trauma-focused, relational, and grounded in cultural humility and social justice. I am fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
Education & Experience
I hold a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University (ASU), along with a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Culture from the Universidade de Brasília (UnB). I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I bring nearly 15 years of experience as a master-level psychotherapist across diverse clinical settings, including outpatient psychotherapy and crisis services, community-based work with Transitional Age Youth (TAY) experiencing serious mental illness, two shelters for unaccompanied immigrant youth, a foster care program serving immigrant and refugee youth, and a domestic violence shelter.
