Dr. Corrine Buchanan, LMHC, LMFT, NCC, EMDRIA Certified Therapist™

About Me

I am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist with advanced training in trauma treatment, relationship work, and nervous system–informed care. My clinical background includes crisis counseling, evidence-based practice, and doctoral-level training in counseling and counselor education. I hold licensure as both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Florida. My approach to EMDR is collaborative, attuned, and paced to the client’s needs. I integrate EMDR with mindfulness, relational and systems perspectives, and identity-affirming care, with particular experience working with LGBTQ+ clients, neurodivergent clients, and individuals navigating complex or developmental trauma. I also draw from training in the Gottman Method for couples therapy when supporting relational healing. I believe effective trauma therapy is grounded in safety, consent, and respect for each client’s lived experience. EMDR, when offered thoughtfully and flexibly, can support deep healing while honoring a client’s autonomy, strengths, and resilience.
