Ethical Considerations for Combining Low Dose Psychedelics and EMDR Therapy

This article seeks to review these innovative techniques for healing traumatic stress, dive into ethical considerations with medicine assisted models, and provide concrete tools and guidelines for clinicians to consider for ethical harm reduction practice of psycholytic EMDR. As our culture embraces the potential healing benefits of psychedelic assisted models it’s important for therapists to slow down to explore the risks associated with this novel approach. There are currently limited case examples and research regarding the combination of psychedelic therapies with evidence-based approaches in the field.
