Twyla Terry-McCarrell, MA, LPC, CBP
Preferred Name: Twyla
About Me
I was born and raised in Oklahoma and have called Texas home for nearly 30 years. Today, I’m grateful to serve clients across both states through telehealth. My journey into counseling began after a long career in the corporate world, when I felt a deeper calling to walk alongside others in their healing. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I specialize in trauma-informed care and am passionate about helping individuals find resilience, balance, and hope. Healing takes courage, and my role is to provide compassion, guidance, and effective tools so you don’t have to carry the weight alone.
Education & Experience
I earned my B.S. in Computer Science from Langston University and later pursued my M.A. in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Since becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have worked in diverse settings including private practice, clinics, internships, volunteer programs, and specialized contexts such as individual, couples, family, group, forensic, faith-based, and personal injury counseling. I am EMDR Trained (EMDR-tr) and a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner (CBP). These modalities allow me to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, fostering lasting change and emotional well-being.
