In the article “5 Keys to the Butterfly Hug to Calm Anxiety,” psychologist Valeria Sabater discusses EMDRIA member Dr. Ignacio (Nacho) Jarero and his colleague Lucina Artigas creating the butterfly hug and how it helps to calm anxiety and work within the EMDR protocol. This article also mentions Jarero and Artigas’s EMDRIA Journal of EMDR Practice & Research article about using the butterfly hug to treat children in a group setting after a mass disaster.

In the article, Dr. Graham discusses colonialism as a trauma for Indigenous peoples in Saskatchewan and EMDR therapy as an effective treatment for trauma.
