Actress Jameela Jamil is back talking about how much she has benefited from EMDR therapy. In this video podcast clip from Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, she shares how EMDR therapy saved her life, and “completely rewired her relationship to trauma and fear.” Host Rosenbaum shares how EMDR therapy helped him heal as well.
EMDRIA member Katie Honeywell, LPCMH, is featured in a local Maryland news article as integral in the expansion of trauma services offices in the region that focus on EMDR therapy.
Racing.com article about jockey Laura Lafferty discusses her recovery from a traumatic racing accident that included EMDR therapy “I had no intentions of coming back [to racing], but that changed when I did EMDR therapy. I’m not sure I would be back at trackwork if it weren’t for that.”

Comedian Pete Davidson discusses ‘EMDR happy places’ with guest Colson Baker in his new Netflix podcast debut The Pete Davidson Show, naming a Staten Island deli as his EMDR phase 2 calm/safe place. In this SILive Entertainment article, Davidson shares it is clean and familiar, and has “stayed normal even as everything else in his life hasn’t.”
Article “Beyond the Olympics, how to beat the yips and twisties in daily life” in FloridaToday states that EMDR therapy “can help rebuild confidence and strengthen their belief that they can perform well again” for people who perform regularly and may experience performance anxieties.
Thailand based rehab center Jintara Rehab highlights the EMDR services of EMDRIA member Denise O’Leary as an EMDRIA Certified Treatment Manager on their team in “Jintara Rehab launches EMDRIA Certified trauma therapy in Thailand’s residential addiction programs.”
EMDR therapy is mentioned as an advancement in PTSD treatment in this Psychiatric Times article about MDMA clinical trials discussing new MDMA research and the neurobiology of PTSD.
UK based RoyalNavyNews article “Veteran’s challenge to support families impacted by PTSD” shares the story of Gary Turner, who served in the Royal Marines and Navy and suffered with PTSD symptoms, finally finding relief when the Royal Marines Charity funded EMDR therapy for both him and his wife: “It brought understanding, coping tools and calm back into our home. Recovery became possible.”
SELF article “‘Adult sleep training’ is on the rise. Here’s who it’s for – and how to do it” shares how one person found success treating her insomnia with a combination of cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and EMDR therapy.
News3 station out of Las Vegas shares a personal video news story about how equine-assested EMDR therapy helped a firefighter to heal the trauma he had from the One October 2017 tragedy.
